Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia – The internet was shocked by the viral news about a member of the DKI Jakarta Transportation Agency (Dishub) who was 'perched' on the hood of a car. He was also carried from Setiabudi in South Jakarta to Menteng in Central Jakarta.
Head of the DKI Jakarta Transportation Service (Kadishub), Syafrin Liputo, explained the chronology of the incident. He said the incident took place on Wednesday (3/1) yesterday, at around 13.00 WIB.
At that time, several members of the Transportation Agency were monitoring illegal parking in the Setiabudi area. Then suddenly the driver of a red Avanza car raised his middle finger while recording the actions of the Transportation Agency members.
“The motorist passed four times at that location, while raising his middle finger at the officers,” said Syafrin in his statement quoted from Detikcom, Thursday (4/1/2023).
Dishub members tried to stop the driver's car and asked why he was going back and forth by raising his middle finger. However, the driver was uncooperative. He even stepped on the gas.
The driver almost hit the officer. One of the members of the Transportation Agency who tried to avoid being hit by the car then ended up on the hood of the car and was carried to the Menteng area.
According to Syafrin's statement, the car driver even hit the motorbike driver. However, he didn't stop and kept going fast.
Finally, two residents tried to chase and managed to stop the car in Menteng. The driver and car were taken to the Setiabudi Police. The problem has also been resolved peacefully.
“Subsequently, the problem was resolved amicably and the driver apologized to the Transportation Agency officers,” Syafrin concluded.
