Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia – Some people believe that working all day can increase your chances of becoming rich, but not Ryan Hogue. He is a man from the United States who works only 1 hour a day, but can have a monthly salary of up to US$ 49,000 or Rp. 790 million.
Ryan initially worked in the IT world as a web developer for a company. Apart from that, he also works freelance as an assistant professor and web designer. However, all the work he has done since 2016 has produced nothing, especially in terms of income.
On this basis, he decided to start a print on demand t-shirt business via the buying and selling site, Amazon, in 2017. According to him, the print on demand business is very profitable because it requires no capital at all.
“Print-on-demand allowing me to sell things like t-shirts and coffee mugs with custom designs. “I don't pay a penny until the customer places an order,” he said CNBC Make Itquoted Thursday (25/4/2024).
No longer spending capital, he also admitted that his working time was less than his previous job. He only works one hour a day. Even though he only worked for a short time, he admitted that the profits from doing business were much greater than working as a web developer, namely US$ 49,000 a month or Rp. 790 million.
At this point, he felt his job as an entrepreneur was very profitable. Moreover, all the profits go purely into his wallet because he has no employees.
“Seven years into the business, I can still do this on my own, thanks in part to the many different tools available to entrepreneurs today,” he said.
Ryan's success has certainly attracted the attention of many people. However, he advised that running this business requires patience, capital and strong determination, as well as consistency. Passive income is not earned over a short period of time. Of course, there is a heavy price to pay if a job switch occurs.
“It takes time to grow passive income to the point where it can replace a full income. However, in my experience, it can be done,” says Ryan.
So far, Ryan doesn't just sell t-shirts. However, he also sells tank tops, long-sleeved shirts, sweatshirts, hoodies, phone cases, pillows and tote bags. As the e-commerce market expands, Ryan's products have also arrived in England, Germany, France, Italy, Spain and Japan.
So that his life journey can be an inspiration, he also started creating a YouTube account. He said, this YouTube account can not only share knowledge, but can also be used as a means of increasing wealth.
