Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia – Telkomsel's Board of Directors met directly in a special one-on-one meeting with Microsoft Chairman & CEO Satya Nadella in Jakarta, Tuesday (30/4). During the meeting, Telkomsel and Microsoft discussed the vast potential of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and its impact on digital transformation, Telkomsel's commitment to implementing the latest technology services for its customers, and Microsoft's commitment to supporting the empowerment of Indonesian society.
President Director of Telkomsel, Nugroho, said, as the leading provider of digital telecommunications services in Indonesia, he has had a long-term collaboration with Microsoft.
“Telkomsel is happy to be able to meet again directly with the CEO of Microsoft to discuss and exchange ideas,” he said, quoted in a written statement, Friday (3/5/2024).
According to him, this one-on-one session opens up more opportunities and insights which he hopes can be integrated into Telkomsel's connectivity, solutions and services which are always aimed at empowering society through technology.
“In the future, Telkomsel and Microsoft will continue to collaborate in providing a variety of solutions that can improve customers' digital lifestyle experiences to support Indonesia's digital progress and empower society through technology,” he said.
Meanwhile, Satya Nadella explained a number of Generative AI-based solutions from Microsoft which have been implemented by several organizations in Indonesia, such as Telkomsel, Open University, BRI, KAI, and even eFishery.
It is known that in 2023, Telkomsel has embarked on an innovation journey with Microsoft in utilizing Microsoft Azure Open AI to provide a more responsive, empathetic and efficient transformation of the customer service experience through the implementation of the Veronika Virtual Assistant. Apart from helping to strengthen interactions and provide product knowledge more quickly to customers, Veronika with Gen AI technology from Microsoft also supports the effectiveness of the work of Telkomsel customer service agents and reduces the burden on the company's conventional automation.
“This new generation of AI can change the way everyone lives and works everywhere, including in Indonesia, thereby helping Indonesia to continue moving forward in this new era,” said Satya.
