Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia – The Ministry of Communication and Information (Kominfo) provided an update regarding preparations for the 10th World Water Forum which will be held in Bali on 18-25 May 2024.
Director General of Information and Public Communication, Kominfo, Usman Kansong, said that preparations for the World Water Forum were still being carried out, covering the event venue, including the media center, and telecommunications network infrastructure. “Later we will speed it up in the next 2 weeks until it reaches 100 percent,” said Usman during the Coffee Together event at the Kominfo Office, Friday (3/5/2024).
According to him, in Bali, it is not too difficult because the telecommunications infrastructure is ready. Regarding infrastructure, beautification will also be carried out, especially in places where participants visit, such as in the Jatiluwih area.
“Later, infrastructure arrangements will be carried out if possible so that the cables don't dangle, we have coordinated with hotels, restaurants around Jatiluwih who will be visiting,” he said.
Kominfo also carries out substantive preparations, such as preparing material that is still dynamic depending on input from various parties. Kominfo continues to coordinate with the World Water Council (WWC) to agree on the themes being discussed.
The event will invite 40 heads of state and it will continue to be updated as to which heads of state will attend.
“We will update, formally and informally we have confirmed that we will attend. We will ask the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for the data first because they will take care of it,” said Usman.
“International organizations will also be present, the World Bank, UNICEF, the UN, many former heads of state will also be present to convey their thoughts about water.” he concluded.
