Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia – PT Jasa Marga (Persero) Tbk (JSMR) provides discounts on toll rates during the 2024 Eid backflow. The amount of the toll rate discount given is 20 percent.
Marketing & Communication Department Head or Pgs. Jasa Marga's Corporate Communication & Community Development Group Head, Faiza Riani, reminded road users to take advantage of the 20% toll rate discount.
Meanwhile, the toll rate discount of 20% applies during the reverse flow period, namely Wednesday, April 17 2024 at 05.00 WIB to Friday, April 19 2024 at 05.00 WIB.
“This 20% toll rate discount applies to continuous travel on the Trans Java Toll Road from Semarang to Jakarta (only from Kalikangkung GT to Cikampek Utama GT) and only applies to transactions using electronic money,” he said in a written statement, Wednesday ( 10/4/2024).
Meanwhile, Jasa Marga recorded that 1,368,243 vehicles had left the Jabotabek area on D-7 to H-1 of Idul Fitri 1445 H 2024 or on Wednesday-Tuesday, 3-9 April 2024.
This figure is the cumulative figure for traffic flow (traffic) from four Barrier/Main Toll Gates (GT), namely GT Cikupa (direction to Merak), GT Ciawi (direction to Puncak), and GT Cikampek Utama (direction to Trans Java) and GT Kalihurip Utama (direction to Bandung).
“The total traffic volume leaving the Jabotabek area increased by 45.00% compared to normal traffic (from 943,612 vehicles). When compared to the Eid 2023 period, the total traffic volume was 1.30% higher (from 1,350,682 vehicles) ,” he said.
Meanwhile, for the distribution of traffic leaving Jabotabek towards three directions, namely the majority of 806,071 vehicles (58.91%) heading east (Trans Java and Bandung), 332,544 vehicles (24.30%) heading west (Merak), and 229,628 vehicles (16.78%) headed south (Puncak).
The details of traffic distribution are as follows:
East direction (Trans Java and Bandung)
– Traffic leaving Jabotabek heading towards Trans Java via the Cikampek Utama GT on the Jakarta-Cikampek Toll Road, with a total of 572,598 vehicles, an increase of 213.44% from normal traffic.
– Traffic leaving Jabotabek heading towards Bandung via the Kalihurip Utama GT on the Cipularang Toll Road, with a total of 233,473 vehicles, an increase of 12.62% from normal traffic.
Total traffic leaving Jabotabek towards Trans Java and Bandung via the two GTs was 806,071 vehicles, an increase of 106.69% from normal traffic.
West Direction (Merak)
Traffic leaving Jabotabek towards Merak via GT Cikupa on the Tangerang-Merak Toll Road was 332,544 vehicles, an increase of 4.82% from normal traffic.
South Direction (Peak)
Meanwhile, the number of vehicles leaving Jabotabek heading towards Puncak via the Ciawi GT on the Jagorawi Toll Road was 229,628 vehicles, 2.85% lower than normal traffic.
“Jasa Marga urges people who will still travel via toll roads to ensure travel readiness, including ensuring the driver and vehicle are in prime condition and roadworthy, preparing supplies, ensuring sufficient fuel and electronic money balances,” he continued.
Faiza also appealed to road users to avoid traveling at times predicted to be the peak of backflow which is predicted to fall on Monday 15 April 2024. Apart from that, she also advised road users to avoid traveling at their favorite times, such as morning and evening.
