Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia – Garuda Indonesia will prepare around 80,000 seats to accommodate the return flow for the Eid holiday season in 2024.
According to the Main Director of Garuda Indonesia, Irfaniaputra, for the needs of the Eid holiday this time, his party has prepared around 56 fleets from the start.
“We have prepared it from the start. So that's enough,” he told journalists on the sidelines of the Ministry of Transportation's (Kemenhub) Halal Bihalal event in Jakarta, Wednesday (10/4/2024).
“We are projecting (the peak return flow) on the 14th (April 2024). Approximately around 80 thousand too. So far 1-2 flights have experienced delays. But, thank God, there are no serious problems,” added Irfan.
He said, during the Eid 2024 homecoming flow period, Garuda Indonesia and Citilink will serve flights for around 82,000 passengers.
“After that it decreased, today it is around 40 thousand,” he said.
“Because it is going on normally. Normally it will rise again slowly and we encourage friends to go to Jakarta for Eid. But now reverse yes. If you want to travel, the best is from Jakarta. Right now, after Eid, discounts can be up to 75%,” said Irfan.
According to him, during the current homecoming season, Garuda Indonesia's occupancy rate reached 70 percent, while Citilink's was around 80%.
“This is the average. Still, Denpasar is the busiest and later Denpasar will definitely be the busiest,” he said.
On the other hand, Irfan admitted that the weather was still a disturbing factor. For example, he explained, flights to Banda Aceh had to be diverted or diverted to Medan.
“But everything else is okay. Cengkareng had a little disturbance, it was a bit blocked from entering. So everything is okay,” he said.
“We, the management of both Garuda and Citilink, take turns on duty. I got the schedule for the 14th,” said Irfan.
