Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia – Car dealers are still busy giving discounts in early 2024. They are continuing the program that has been running since the end of 2023. Some brands even provide discounts of up to tens of millions of rupiah.

Dealers from the Japanese brand Suzuki are giving discounts for the 7-seater Ertiga MPV of up to IDR 30 million more. This discount value has increased compared to 2023, where the discount was under IDR 30 million.

“Ertiga Hybrid and Gasoline, including the GL type, both had a discount of IDR 36 million at the beginning of the year,” said a Suzuki salesperson to CNBC Indonesia, Thursday (4/1/2024).

In fact, at the end of last year, the discount for the same car, namely the Ertiga type GL, was IDR 29 million for both automatic and manual types. The starting price for the Ertiga GL automatic is IDR 262.8 million, while the Ertiga GL Manual is IDR 251.8 million.

In the SUV segment, Suzuki is giving a big discount on its flagship Low SUV, namely the XL-7. The cashback value reaches more than IDR 30 million for both petrol and hybrid types. However, the discount value is still the same as at the end of 2023.

“The XL-7 Beta has a discount of IDR 34 million, while the XL-7 Zeta has a discount of IDR 32 million,” said the Suzuki salesperson in Jakarta.

The petrol type Suzuki XL 7 Zeta Matic, priced at IDR 267.1 million, got cashback of IDR 32 million last year, as did the XL7 hybrid Beta type, both automatic and manual.

Its competitor in the Low-SUV segment, namely the Honda BR-V, is also currently being discounted, the value is the same as at the end of last year. However, even though we have entered the new year, the On The Road (OTR) value still follows the 2023 OTR.

“The discount is IDR 50 million, because the NIK (Vehicle Identification Number) is 2023, so the price still follows last year's,” said a Honda salesperson to CNBC Indonesia, Thursday (1/4/2023).
