Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia – AS Roma officially fired the coach, Jose Mourinho. This was confirmed by I Giallorossi via its official website, Tuesday (16/1/2024).
“We would like to thank Jose on behalf of all of us at AS Roma for his enthusiasm and efforts since his arrival at the club,” said Dan Friedkin and Ryan Friedkin as owners of AS Roma.
“We will always have fond memories of Jose's tenure at the club. But we believe immediate changes need to be made in the best interests of the club. We wish Jose and his assistants the best in the future,” he continued.
Mourinho, a coach from Portugal, was announced as the 60th coach of AS Roma in May 2021. His best achievement was leading the Giallorossi to become champions of the UEFA Conference League in 2022.
Last season, AS Roma was successfully taken to the final of the UEFA Europa League. However, Roma had to give up on Sevilla on penalties.
