Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia – The government stated that the double track project in Bandung, West Java is continuing. The program currently being implemented is the construction of a double track train for the Kiaracondong – Cicalengka segment. Phase I of this project will be implemented in 2020-2021 for the Gedebage – Haurpugur segment.
Meanwhile, starting from 2022-2024, phase II construction is also underway for the Kiaracondong – Gedebage segment and completion of the Haurpugur-Cicalengka segment. At least by the middle of this year the target will be completed.
“The target is to complete semester 1 2024,” said Director General of Railways of the Ministry of Transportation Risal Wasal to CNBC Indonesia, Tuesday (16/1/2024).

The importance of double track became even greater after the accident between the Turangga Train and the Bandung Raya local train on the Cicalengka-Haurpugur KM 181+700 route on January 5 2024.
The total budget required for construction reaches IDR 1.2 trillion and is fully financed by the APBN. Most of the projects use State Sharia Securities (SBSN) funding sources.
“According to the railway sector development master plan, this segment will also be developed in the future, but currently we are still completing construction of the Kiaracondong – Cicalengka segment,” said the Director of Sharia Financing, Directorate General of Financing and Risk Management, Ministry of Finance, Dwi Irianti Hadiningdyah
