Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia – Artificial Intelligence (AI) technology is developing rapidly globally. Countries in the world are competing to develop this technology.
Minister of Communication and Information Budi Arie Setiadi revealed the great potential that AI brings to boost economic growth. He said AI has the potential to support growth amidst the sluggish global economy.
In 2030, AI growth is projected to reach US$207 or more than IDR 3,200 trillion.
“One sector that can bring optimism is the digital economy sector. This sector is projected to grow exponentially,” said Budi Arie at the CNBC Indonesia Economic Outlook 2024 event at the Ritz-Carlton Hotel, Pacific Place, Jakarta, Thursday (29/2/2024 ).
“For example, the AI market at the global level is projected to continue to accelerate with a value reaching US$ 207 billion in 2030,” he added.
The digital economy also has great potential in the Southeast Asia region. Budi revealed the potential value could reach US$ 1 trillion by 2030.
“For real GDP growth in this region [red: Asia Tenggara] “it is estimated to reach 4.8 percent in 2024,” he explained.
Especially nationally, this sector is also quite promising. According to Budi, the valuation could reach US$ 109 billion next year.
On the same occasion, Budi explained that his party had released the Digital Indonesia Vision or VID 2045. Infrastructure is the foundation for government, the economy and also digital inclusion in Indonesia.
“This vision prioritizes infrastructure as the foundation for realizing a responsive digital government, an innovative digital economy, and digital inclusion for all Indonesian society and citizens,” said Budi Arie.
