Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia- A 4.8 magnitude earthquake rocked Sumedang Regency, West Java on December 31 2023, causing dozens of injuries and 1325 houses damaged.
Acting Regent of Sumedang, Herman Suryatman, said that since the end of 2023, there have been 13 earthquakes in Sumedang and on January 4 2023 there was a M2.5 earthquake with an affected area of 12 sub-districts.
Currently Sumedang has been declared in a state of Disaster Emergency Response for 7 days until January 7 2024. For this reason, the regional government together with BNPB and related agencies have carried out data collection on victims to distribute aid to the community.
It is planned that the government will provide assistance for victims of heavily damaged buildings amounting to IDR 60 million, for moderate damage IDR 30 million and for light damage IDR 15 million.
