Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia – The government plans to implement an increase in value added tax (VAT) to 12%. Many people oppose this policy, including business actors in the property sector.
APERSI General Chair Junaidi Abdillah said that from the developer's side the increase to 12% was burdensome so it was hoped that the government could re-evaluate it. Apart from that, stimulus is still needed to maintain production and purchasing power in the property sector.
In line with this, Property Observer Anton Sitorus said that the plan to increase VAT to 12% is not appropriate, because the impact could be widening.
